Katie & Robby’s Chapel Hill Wedding: A Love Story in Full Bloom
On a gorgeous spring evening in May, Katie and Robby said “I do” at the charming Old Lystra Inn in Chapel Hill. Surrounded by their families and closest friends from college, their wedding day was a fun reunion and heartfelt celebration. As their officiant, I had the honor of witnessing a love rooted in deep friendship and shared adventures.
A Love That Grew From Friendship
Katie and Robby’s love story began at Penn State, thanks to a well-placed introduction by their mutual friend—and future groomsman—Ben. What started as an easy friendship blossomed into a relationship that felt destined. By junior year, after countless memories together, including sorority hayrides and fraternity formals, they knew they had found their person. They began dating around Valentine’s Day and never looked back.
A Journey of Shared Adventures
Their years together have been filled with adventure and intention. From road trips to Niagara Falls, to post-grad explorations in California, and creating a home in Philadelphia with their beloved beagle, Benny, every step has brought them closer. When life slowed down in 2020, they found peace at Katie’s family beach house in North Carolina—a place that soon became the heart of their new chapter together.
In 2021, they made the move to Raleigh, and in 2023, they bought their first home. Not long after, Robby proposed during a dreamy trip to Spain, marking the next milestone in their beautiful journey.
A Wedding Day Full of Meaning
Their wedding was a reflection of everything they value—love, laughter, connection, and the joy of being truly known by another. One of the greatest gifts in life is finding someone with whom you can grow, learn, and thrive. Someone whose presence amplifies your strengths and with whom you build a bond that’s both grounding and uplifting. This is the kind of love Katie and Robby share.
As I stood beside them and led the ceremony, it was clear to everyone present that this was not just the start of a new chapter—it was a celebration of all the love that’s come before and all the promise of what’s ahead.
Meant To Walk This Path Together
Today, Katie and Robby affirmed what has been true for years: they are meant to walk this life together, hand in hand, as family. Their love is a reminder that when two people come together with intention, openness, and heart, every day becomes an opportunity to celebrate the shared journey.
